Environmental, Social & Economic Sustainability at The Polesworth School

Our Vision:

We’re committed to promoting and embedding a whole-school approach to sustainability at Polesworth.  To prioritising an ethos and school culture where everyone (staff, students, parents and carers, and the wider community) is increasingly informed about and engaged with topics of climate change and sustainability.

We hope to build a shared sense of responsibility, inspire positive behaviour change, and in turn reduce costs and improve mental and physical well-being.

The vision has several key priorities:

1). To prepare our students for a world impacted by climate change.

2). To measure and then reduce our direct and indirect emissions.  Engaging practically in the transition to net zero to meet legislative targets.

3). To evolve our school site and infrastructure to prepare for the effects of climate change and provide greater economic sustainability.

4). To enhance biodiversity and increase stakeholder access to- and connection with nature.

This plan is our public commitment to promoting and embedding sustainability at Polesworth.
