Reserve a book for collection
You can search all the books available in our catalogue, using the search bar. Searches can be categorised by Word, Genre, Subject, Title, Author, Series and (Reading) List. If you would like to order or reserve a book for loan, just find the book you want using search. Click on the book image icon.
- If it has a green tick – then the book is available now. You can come to the library and pick it off the shelf or, place a reservation and collect when the library has it ready for you.
- If it has a red cross – then the book is out on loan / not available, but you can still make a reservation. When the book comes back in, the library will save it for you and notify you when it is available to collect.
To make a book reservation, simply click the ‘Reserve’ button, located under the book image icon. A pop-up box will appear. Click ‘Reserve’. Your reservation is now secured. You will receive a message via your online account when the book is available for collection.
To view your reservations, click on your photo / name in the black task bar. Select ‘Requests’ from the dropdown menu. Here you will see a photo icon of any books you have on reserve. Click on the book icon and it will bring up information, including ‘Place in queue’. This indicates where in line you are for receiving the book. i.e. ‘1st in queue’ means you will be the first to receive the book when it becomes available again.
Managing your account
With your Oliver account, it is easy to keep track of your library activity online. Simply login, click on your photo icon/name and see the drop-down menu. From here you can view and manage your loans, messages and requests (reservations), as well as create and control your favourites list, interest list, searches and book reviews.
You can contact the library directly via your Messages tab. The library will also use this to communicate with you about your account. However, please be aware that all notices regarding Overdue loans are automated and sent directly from the library system to your registered school email address. You will not receive these via Oliver Messages.
