Apprenticeship Vacancies

Business Administration Apprentice – The Polesworth School Academy Trust

To support the administration of the school under the direction of the Head’s PA & Administration Manager.  The postholder will be trained in all areas of school administration and will move around the team assisting in different areas of the business.

Annual wage : £10,811.00

Working week : Monday to Thursday 8.00 am to 4.00 pm and Friday 8.00 am to 3.30 pm. This post will be for 39 weeks per year (term time plus training days) and will run for 15 months.
Total hours per week: 35.50

Duties to Include

  • Reception duties
  • Updating pupil information
  • Assisting with all administrative requirements of a school office
  • Inbound and outbound telephone calls
  • Dealing with mail

This busy office environment will be a great place to learn new skills.

Apprenticeship duration: 15 months

Finance Apprentice  – Community Academies Trust

This role involves supporting the Trust’s finance function with purchase ledger, sales ledger, month end reporting and year-end financial accounting

Weekly wage : £207.20

Working week : Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm or 8am – 4pm.  Total hours per week: 37.00

Duties to Include:

  • Purchase Ledger; including preparing supplier invoices for payment.
  • Sales Ledger; including raising customer invoices.
  • Reconciliations of bank accounts, charge card statements and control codes.
  • Liase with schools’ finance teams; providing training and support.
  • Answer the phone, take messages and respond to queries.
  • Understand basic tax principles to apply current regulations to calculate VAT.
  • Use the Trust’s accounting system to enter transactions, gather information and produce reports.
  • Produce monthly budget monitoring reports in line with deadlines.
  • Prepare and process year-end adjustments.
  • Assist with the preparation of the year end financial statements; collating the relevant information and producing notesPrioritise individual workload, ensuring agreed targets and timescales are met.
  • Operate e-mail, word processing packages and spreadsheets.
  • Complete AAT studies in line with apprenticeship training scheme.


Apprenticeship duration:
15 months
