Gold Standard awarded to Polesworth School Library
The School Library has recently been presented with the first Gold Award in a new national scheme to recognise the work of school libraries by Warwickshire Schools Library Service (SLS). The Gold award is given for high-performing libraries, of which The Polesworth School has now proved itself a worthy recipient.
A spokesperson from SLS said, “We are thrilled that The Polesworth School is the first school to receive this new award, not only in Warwickshire, but in the whole country. Polesworth’ s success is no surprise to us, as it reflects the dedication and experience of the staff and students involved with running the library and their vision for a high-quality resource at the heart of the curriculum. It also shows the long-standing commitment of the school senior management team to provision of a study support centre for students.”
Head of School, Mrs Favell said, “We are delighted to receive the first Gold SLS-UK School Library Award via the Schools Library Service in Warwickshire, recognising the dedication of The Polesworth staff and student librarians. This Award is further evidence of the high quality teaching and learning that takes place every day in our School.”
