Welcome to the Physical Education Department
We aim to develop physically educated, confident active learners who have the knowledge, motivation and inter-personal skills to live a lifelong, healthy and active lifestyle.
We are a department that believes every individual is important and should be challenged. Everyone has the right to experience success and failure whilst being pushed to learn skills and develop themselves through performance situations. With a broad curriculum and extracurricular programme we pride ourselves on providing the highest standards possible in PE and school sport.
A broad range of curricular and extracurricular activities give an excellent opportunity for pupils of all years to take part, learn, enjoy and excel at their chosen sport or sports. All students are supported in trying to achieve their best and improve their personal health and fitness.
Pupils, past and present, give an idea of the standards of achievement that are made possible when the hard work, commitment and ability of both the department teachers, pupils and parents combine.
Team GB Hurdles, Manchester United FC, Walsall FC, Coventry FC, Leicester Tigers RFC, England Ladies Football, England Ladies Rugby Captain, England Development Programme of Cricket, Warwickshire Cricket and European Champion of British Junior Golf have all been represented or achieved by past or present pupils of The Polesworth School.
Our aim is to continue this excellent list of achievements and to make PE and sport a major part of pupil development whilst at our school.
